AKYN Hospitality Group has signed an agreement with Marriott International to bring Courtyard by Marriott brand to Quy Nhon, Vietnam.

The new hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Quy Nhon, is expected to open in 2025.

The 362-guestroom hotel will be developed by AKYN Hospitality Group.

Following the signing ceremony, AKYN Hospitality Group has broken ground on the Courtyard by Marriott Quy Nhon project on 6 June.

Marriott International Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia & Myanmar area vice president Jakob Helgen said: “Courtyard by Marriott is the perfect fit for Quy Nhon, an emerging market with strong potential. This hotel represents a major milestone in the advancement of our expansion strategy in Vietnam.”

The new hotel will feature three contemporary dining outlets – a café, an all-day-dining restaurant and a lobby lounge.

Other amenities in the hotel will include a fitness centre, a 25m outdoor pool, an outdoor kids play area and a spa featuring steam rooms, private treatment rooms and a sauna.

Courtyard by Marriott Quy Nhon will have a 756m² function space along with a ballroom and four breakout rooms, suited for various occasions.

Additionally, the hotel has a separate area for business executives, called The Residence.

This area will include meeting rooms, seating clusters, working zones and personal booths, with printing stations and a F&B counter.

Apart from the latest agreement, AKYN Hospitality Group is collaborating with Mariott International for other projects.

It includes a resort in Phuoc Hai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and a five-star hotel, The Westin Resort & Spa Cam Ranh in Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City. The resort is scheduled to open in late 2022.

In 2017, Marriott International’s JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts opened 244-room JW Marriott Phu Quoc, Emerald Bay in Vietnam.
