Avani Hotels & Resorts, part of Minor Hotels, has launched a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, called Dollars for Deeds across Asia.

This initiative enables guests to contribute to various causes such as children’s hospitals in Laos, disability organisations in Bali, and coral reef protection programmes in the Indian Ocean.

The upscale hotel brand has requested its guests to partake in this opt-out initiative.

Through this initiative, a donation of one dollar per night of stay can be made, while Minor Hotels matches each donation dollar for dollar.

Avani+ Luang Prabang in Laos collaborates with Lao Friends Hospital for Children to provide medical treatment to more than 35,000 children each year.

Through the Dollars for Deeds initiative, the hotel contributes resources equivalent to 50 ampoules of vitamin B1 or a casting kit for bone injuries, among others, for every one-night stay.

Laos Friends Hospital for Children director of development Pierre Boismard said: “We value the robust connections with our partners who consistently contribute to the cause of saving young lives.

“Avani+ Luang Prabang has emerged as a key contributor within this community through its Dollars for Deeds programme, and we are immensely thankful for the hotel’s support.”

Avani Seminyak Bali Resort is supporting the Annika Linden Centre in providing care for children with disabilities. Established in 2013, the centre hosts three disability organisations.

Avani’s Dollars for Deeds contributions are expected to aid in funding physiotherapy and rehabilitation sessions, among others.

Additionally, guest donations are anticipated to help in providing prosthetics, orthotics, and wheelchairs for those in need.

Avani’s 11 properties across Thailand are currently supporting various charitable causes.

These causes include the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation, the Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation, and the Princess Sirindhorn Craniofacial Centre.

These properties are also contributing to the Kianh Foundation in Vietnam and have a coral reef protection programme at Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort.

The Dollars for Deeds programme is expected to become a global initiative for Avani Hotels & Resorts by 2024, providing support to local charities and wildlife organisations worldwide.

The Anantara Hotels and Resorts brand introduced Dollars for Deeds about ten years ago.
