
Singapore-based Banyan Group has reported a reduction in its environmental footprint through its ‘2024 Sustainability Report—One Banyan, One Sustainable Future’.
The company’s advancements in energy efficiency and renewable energy adoption have led to a 5.7% decrease in emissions intensity per occupied room compared to 2023.
Banyan Group’s 2024 sustainability report highlights its efforts in reducing energy consumption through upgrades to lighting, air conditioning, and room control systems.
The installation of solar panels and timer controls across its properties has been instrumental in achieving these results.
Additionally, the company reported a 5.9% reduction in single-use plastics, equating to 9.73 pieces of plastic per occupied room.
Furthermore, its waste management initiatives have seen a 28% diversion of total waste from landfill, marking a five-point increase from 2023.

By GlobalDataWater conservation measures, including infrastructure repairs, leak detection, and water reuse, have resulted in a 5.1% improvement in water efficiency per occupied room.
Complementing its environmental initiatives, Banyan Group has also focused on marine conservation.
The expansion of its Marine Lab in the Maldives and the launch of the Coral Reef Restoration Project with the China Environmental Protection Foundation in 2024 exemplify its commitment to protecting marine ecosystems.
Banyan Group continues to foster community development through its Seedlings programme, which provides mentorship to 93 young individuals and offers 2,515 internship opportunities.
The expansion of its artisan network has supported 306 artisan communities, including 66 new groups, promoting local traditions and economies.
Marking its 30th anniversary, the Banyan Global Foundation has funded 30 associate-initiated projects that contribute to social, environmental, and economic benefits in the regions where the group operates.
