Thailand hotel operator Centara Hotels & Resorts has opened the doors of its new themed family resort on the Deira Islands in Dubai, the UAE.

The opening ceremony was held in the presence of Nakheel chairman Mohammed Al-Shaibani, Centara Hotels & Resorts chief executive officer Thirayuth Chirathivat and Central Group of Companies executive vice-president Suparat Chirathivat.

Centara Mirage Beach Resort Dubai is a joint venture development between Centara and real estate development firm Nakheel.

The new property is in line with the emirate’s tourism strategy. Centara initially announced plans for the new themed family resort in August this year.

Centara Mirage Beach Resort Dubai is located 30 minutes from Dubai International Airport and a walking distance from the newly opened Souk Al Marfa seafront souk and marketplace.

The waterfront hotel features 607 rooms and suites, seven dining venues, a fully equipped fitness centre and Thai-inspired Spa Cenvaree.

The resort also boasts water play area for kids, waterslides and cliff jumping points, multiple kids’ clubs, candy-themed children’s spa, dedicated Mirage Family Lounge and others.

It is Centara’s first property in the UAE and third Mirage family-themed resort after Lost World-themed Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya in Thailand and the Explorer’s Playground-themed Centara Mirage Resort Mui Ne in Vietnam.

Centara Mirage Resort Mui Ne opened this year and Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya was unveiled in 2009.

Nakheel is the creator of Palm Jumeirah and the new Deira Islands waterfront city.
