City Express by Marriott, part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, has made its entry into the Canadian market with the opening of City Express by Marriott Port Hope.
According to the company, the newly launched 91-room hotel will serve as a “convenient gateway” to destinations across Ontario and offers access to the Kawarthas, Kingston, the Niagara Region, Ottawa, Prince Edward County, and Toronto.

The property is designed as a stopover for business and leisure travellers.
Guest facilities at City Express by Marriott Port Hope include accommodation with breakfast, fitness amenities and Wi-Fi access.
The hotel also provides 24/7 services, including a self-service coffee station and The Market Place, which offers a range of snacks, drinks and everyday necessities.

City Express by Marriott has 160 properties in seven countries and sits alongside City Centro, City Express Junior, City Express Plus, and City Express Suites, each serving a different traveller segment.
In December 2025, Marriott International signed 100 agreements for its City Express midscale hotel brand across the US and Canada.
The move was part of Marriott’s strategy to expand its midscale hotel segment in North America.
This included extending regional brands into new markets, following City Express’s earlier presence in the Caribbean and Latin America.
