Cygnett Hotels and Resorts has signed its first property in Sonipat, in the Indian state of Haryana, The Economic Times has reported.

This deal represents the company’s debut hotel in the country’s northern state. The hotel is slated to open in the months to come.

Sonipat is an industrial hub and home to many universities. It is located approximately 44km from New Delhi, India.

Positioned as a branded budget property, it will have 42 guest rooms fitted with all modern amenities.

The hotel will also boast of a multi-cuisine restaurant and a quick-service restaurant with a capacity to accommodate 300 guests.

Cygnett Sonipat will provide several banqueting and conferencing facilities with a capacity to accommodate up to 900 guests.

Cygnett Hotels and Resorts founder and managing director Sarbendra Sarkar was quoted saying: “We are thrilled to establish our presence in the significant district of Sonipat which is both an industrial and educational hub. The property will be well-positioned to cater to the local wedding market as well.

“This hotel is a significant addition to our rapidly expanding portfolio of hotels in the country. We are confident that it will create a niche market for itself in the region.”
