Dusit International’s hotel unit Dusit Hotels and Resorts is set to reopen Dusit Thani Bangkok, Thailand, in September 2024.

This hotel is set to revive its iconic presence in the heart of Dusit Central Park in Bangkok and reimagine the heritage of the original hotel that operated between 1970 and 2019.

The reconstructed 39-storey Dusit Thani Bangkok is said to maintain the luxury benchmark set by its predecessor.

It will feature spacious deluxe rooms and suites, beginning at 50m², though room count will be reduced to 257 from the original 517.

The hotel’s architecture has been conceived by a collaboration between Architects 49 International Limited and OMA Asia Hong Kong, part of the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA).

The floorplan ensures that each room offers views of Lumpini Park through floor-to-ceiling windows, with window seating.

Maintaining its legacy, the new Dusit Thani Bangkok features one of the city’s largest grand ballrooms, with a high ceiling and more than 5,000m² of banqueting and meeting facilities.

The hotel is also set to unveil a collection of food and beverage outlets, including a multi-level rooftop bar, in association with acclaimed chefs.

Dusit’s wellness brand, Devarana Wellness, will introduce a new urban sanctuary concept at the hotel, promising bespoke wellness experiences for guests, visitors, and locals.

The new Dusit Thani Bangkok has integrated signature elements from the original building, including the golden spire and artworks by local artists, blending historical ornaments with contemporary design.

Dusit International Group CEO Suphajee Suthumpun said: “The new Dusit Thani Bangkok is more than just a hotel; it’s a testament to our commitment to evolving with the times and leveraging our heritage to create unforgettable experiences for the future.

“By blending tradition with innovation, the new Dusit Thani Bangkok has been carefully designed to surprise and delight long-time fans of the original hotel and new generations of travellers alike. This reimagined landmark also serves as a blueprint for exciting new services and experiences across Dusit Hotels and Resorts worldwide.”
