Edition Hotels has made its debut in the Middle East with the soft launch of The Abu Dhabi Edition, a waterfront oasis.
The lifestyle brand was conceived by US-based Ian Schrager Company, in partnership with Marriott International.
The hotel opened in preview on 24 October and will launch officially on 21 November.
Located at Al Bateen Marina, the new hotel features 198 guest rooms and suites as well as 57 residences.
The Abu Dhabi Edition is 20 minutes away from the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the beaches of Saadiyat, and 35 minutes from Yas Island.
Targeting the modern traveler, the hotel offers upscale environment, with innovative design whilst incorporating the traditions of the Emirati culture.
Speaking on the design, Schrager said: “It’s about an attitude, about a feeling rather than a look. Sophisticated public spaces, finishes, design and details serve the experience, not drive it.”
The five-storey lobby features a curved atrium with “a sinuously shaped” balustrade, mimicking the movement of the water.
The lobby is designed to blur the lines between work and play as it features group meeting tables, a signature golden Edition pool table, a bar and a barista station.
The hotel also features a traditional English oak panelled restaurant Oak Room; Library Bar, a craft gin-led cocktail bar blended with Edition classics; a coastal Mediterranean-style restaurant Alba Terrace; Edition Spa; a grand ballroom measuring 654m2 with seating capacity for 450 guests.
