Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, a part of the hospitality group Accor, has opened the Fairmont Golden Prague hotel after a multimillion-euro refurbishment of the building it occupies.

The renovation of the hotel, situated at the entrance of Pařížská Boulevard on the Vltava Riverbank, was led by chief architect Marek Tichý.

The original building was designed by Czech architect Karel Filsak in 1974.

The hotel offers 320 rooms, suites, and serviced residences, featuring a blend of dark wood and lighter elements, and traditional Czech glass artistry.

Fairmont Golden Prague provides guests with six dining options, including the rooftop Zlata Praha and the modern Asian Golden Eye.

The lobby’s Coocoo’s Nest and Greenhouse offer a social hub and a taste of Czech beer culture, respectively.

The hotel’s art collection showcases a mix of 1960s and 1970s pieces alongside contemporary works.

This property’s 1,400m² Fairmont Spa & Wellness Centre offers tailored wellness experiences, combining luxury, nature, and technology.

The spa includes treatment suites, saunas, a steam bath, and a fitness studio with an L-shaped pool.

Fairmont Golden Prague also features event spaces, including a 600m² ballroom and rooftop boardrooms with private terraces.

As part of Accor’s luxury portfolio, the hotel joins more than ten Fairmont properties in Europe and contributes to the brand’s expansion, with over 30 hotels under development globally.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts chief executive officer Omer Acar said: “The opening of Fairmont Golden Prague is a significant milestone for Fairmont as we continue to grow the brand’s presence in Europe.

“Prague is a city with an incredible story to tell, and we are honoured to play a part in preserving its great heritage. Blending Fairmont’s celebratory spirit with the property’s architectural grandeur will bring a captivating new luxury hotel experience to the Czech capital, and its innovative restaurant concepts – an exciting new offering to the city’s vibrant culinary scene.”

Last month, Accor’s Fairmont Hotels & Resorts announced plans to open five new hotels across Asia by this year, further extending its presence in the region with locations in India, Japan, Vietnam, and Thailand.
