Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo in Costa Rica is undertaking a “comprehensive enhancement project”, scheduled to be completed and unveiled in late 2026.

The design-led project is aimed at aligning the property with changing preferences of contemporary travellers, with updates spanning accommodation, dining venues and gathering spaces.

A central element of the work is the creation of ten new one-bedroom Papagayo Suites and a revamped Miramar Presidential Suite, which will sit alongside the resort’s Latin American steakhouse, Nemare.

The new suites are set to include new furnishings while the three-bedroom Presidential Suite will offer access to terraces, a pool and outdoor areas.

Guest rooms across the resort are to receive a “light refresh” focused on soft furnishings.

Nemare’s interior will be reconfigured with a variety of seating options, among them curved leather banquettes and outdoor communal tables.

An enlarged outdoor area is planned to deepen the restaurant’s connection with the surrounding natural environment.

Meeting and event spaces are also part of the upgrade.

Measuring more than 4,000ft² (375mt²), the ballroom will be redesigned with reference to Costa Rica’s biodiversity, featuring biophilic elements, sculptural lighting and natural materials including wood and stone.

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts general manager Brent Martin said: “We are committed to creating experiences that feel personal, intuitive, and deeply connected to this destination.

“These enhancements allow us to further evolve the resort in ways that feel meaningful to our guests; from how they relax and dine to how they come together.”

Last month, Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo introduced its refurbished Casa del Cielo private retreat.

The residence now offers 7,000ftt² of air-conditioned interior space following a full renovation. Casa del Cielo includes multiple terraces, a private infinity-edge pool, and overlooks the coastline of Peninsula Papagayo.
