The new hotel, Waldorf Astoria Tanger, is expected to open in 2025.
Located on the Moroccan northwest coast in Tanger, the new hotel provides easy access to the Cape Spartel Reserve and other historic sites including Caves of Hercules.
It will feature a total of 115 guestrooms and suites, including 21 villas with private pools as well as a 1,250m² Royal Villa.
Apart from the contemporary-style rooms, the hotel will also have a 3,000m² luxury spa and a multi-functional meeting area, along with boardrooms.
The event space will be suitable for organising various celebrations as well as business and social gatherings.
Besides, the hotel will offer five different dining options, including Waldorf Astoria brand’s signature restaurant Peacock Alley.
Hilton Europe, Middle East & Africa development senior vice-president Patrick Fitzgibbon said: “Introducing Waldorf Astoria to Morocco in partnership with Star Hill is an exciting move for Hilton, and we are pleased to debut this iconic brand in Tanger, a stylish destination which is witnessing rapid development.
“Across Morocco we are growing our portfolio of hotels, building on the significant momentum the country is experiencing for travel and tourism, with plans to nearly triple our presence in coming years with openings from across our brand segments.”
The new Waldorf Astoria Tanger has joined Hilton’s portfolio of four multi-branded properties in Morocco.
It includes Al Houara Resort & Spa, City Center Hotel & Residences, Garden Inn Tanger City Centre and the most recent Garden Inn Casablanca Sud.
Currently, Hilton has seven properties under different development stages across the country, with two anticipated to open later this year.
Last month, a Waldorf Astoria branded hotel opened in Kuwait.
