Hilton Europe, Middle East & Africa development senior vice-president Patrick Fitzgibbon said: “Introducing Waldorf Astoria to Morocco in partnership with Star Hill is an exciting move for Hilton, and we are pleased to debut this iconic brand in Tanger, a stylish destination which is witnessing rapid development.

“Across Morocco we are growing our portfolio of hotels, building on the significant momentum the country is experiencing for travel and tourism, with plans to nearly triple our presence in coming years with openings from across our brand segments.”

The new Waldorf Astoria Tanger has joined Hilton’s portfolio of four multi-branded properties in Morocco.

It includes Al Houara Resort & Spa, City Center Hotel & Residences, Garden Inn Tanger City Centre and the most recent Garden Inn Casablanca Sud.

Currently, Hilton has seven properties under different development stages across the country, with two anticipated to open later this year.
