Hilton has announced the expansion of its Italian portfolio with the signing of two new properties in Milan and Rome.

These developments are part of franchise agreements with Forimi Italia Spa, a component of Gruppo Roscioli.

Canopy by Hilton Milan Duomo will introduce the Canopy by Hilton lifestyle brand to Italy, featuring 96 guest rooms. It is due to open later this year.

Hilton Garden Inn Rome Colosseum, with 181 rooms, is expected to welcome guests in 2026.

Hilton Southern Europe development vice-president Alan Mantin said: “Italy, one of Europe’s most celebrated destinations, remains a key market for Hilton, where we have 109 trading and pipeline hotels.

“As we continue on our strong growth journey in the country, we’re thrilled to announce two new signings – Canopy by Hilton Milan Duomo will be the first Canopy by Hilton in Italy, and Hilton Garden Inn Rome Colosseum will demonstrate the continued strong demand for this brand in Italy.”

Canopy by Hilton Milan Duomo will offer a boutique hotel experience in the centre of Milan. It is set to blend modern architecture with classic elements and was originally constructed in the early 1950s.

Guests will have access to amenities such as a restaurant, a lobby bar, and a rooftop bar with city views. The hotel will also feature an indoor and outdoor pool, alongside fitness and wellness facilities.

The hotel’s proximity to major tourist attractions includes the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Duomo di Milano, and Palazzo Reale di Milano, all less than one kilometre away.

Meanwhile, the Hilton Garden Inn Rome Colosseum will become the second hotel under the Hilton Garden Inn brand in Rome.

The property aims to cater to business as well as leisure guests, featuring modern amenities such as a restaurant, lobby bar, and fitness space.

Positioned within walking distance of historical landmarks like the Colosseum, Domus Aurea, and the Roman Forum, the hotel also offers transport links to other city attractions.

Rome’s Roma Termini railway station is 1.5km from the hotel.

Guests staying at any Hilton property can benefit from the Hilton Honors guest loyalty programme, which offers more than 210 million members who book directly with Hilton the opportunity to earn points for stays and experiences at the hotels, along with instant rewards and member discounts.
