Among the latest developments is an agreement to introduce DoubleTree by Hilton to Ireland through the conversion of a 156-room hotel in Ashbourne, near Dublin.
The site is due to open as DoubleTree by Hilton Ashbourne in early 2027 following a full refurbishment of bedrooms, shared areas, restaurants and bars.
The hotel is around 25 minutes from Dublin Airport and adds to Hilton’s presence in the wider Dublin area.
This follows the opening of Home2 Suites by Hilton Dublin City Centre, the brand’s first property in Europe.
The 290-suite hotel brings Hilton’s extended-stay model to the market, with apartment-style units aimed at short and longer visits.
Hilton has also signed Cork City Centre, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, marking its first hotel in Cork.
Expected to open in 2027 in partnership with JMK Group, the 103-room hotel will be built on South Terrace in central Cork. It will include standard rooms, extended-stay accommodation, a restaurant, bar and fitness facilities.
In Northern Ireland, Hilton is progressing several projects across different brands.
In Portrush, the group marked one year since the opening of The Marcus Portrush, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, which was the first Tapestry Collection hotel in Northern Ireland.
It has also added to its DoubleTree pipeline with the signings of DoubleTree by Hilton Belfast City Ten Square and DoubleTree by Hilton Derry Londonderry.
Hilton is also preparing to introduce another brand in Northern Ireland with Tempo by Hilton Belfast City Centre.
The 144-room hotel is expected to be the first Tempo by Hilton property outside the US, taking the brand into international markets for the first time.
Hilton UK & Ireland development vice-president Paul Blackmore said: “Ireland’s enduring appeal makes it an attractive market for Hilton, with strong demand in cities and across the regions.
“The opening of Home2 Suites, alongside new signings including DoubleTree by Hilton Ashbourne, and continued expansion of brands such as Tapestry Collection by Hilton, underlines our confidence in the country. We remain focused on expanding our footprint and working with owners and partners to bring the right brands to the right locations while supporting tourism and long-term investment.”
