Hilton has unveiled plans to introduce the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand to Tobago with the signing of Elephant Tree Resort and Villas Tobago.

Set to open in 2028, the resort will become a part of the nearly 160 independent hotels under the Tapestry Collection.

Hilton Caribbean and Latin America development vice-president Pablo Maturana said: “Interest in Tapestry Collection by Hilton, as well as our other lifestyle brands, has grown significantly across the Caribbean and Latin America, where Hilton currently welcomes guests at nearly 40 lifestyle hotels and has plans for more than 30 additional lifestyle properties across the region.”

Hotel Equities will operate the Elephant Tree Resort and Villas Tobago, which is situated in the town of Roxborough on the island’s southern shore.

The resort will feature more than 1,000ft of oceanfront and provide guests with a selection of 40 guest rooms and 126 fully furnished residences spread across over 21 acres.

Its accommodation options will include 88 three-bedroom units and 38 two-bedroom units.

The branded residences will provide an optional rental programme for owners to contribute their units to the hotel’s inventory.

Elephant Tree Resort and Villas Tobago will feature a spa, a fitness centre and three swimming pools. It will also provide 400ft² of meeting space for events.

The property also has a beach club and an all-day dining restaurant that will serve guests in both indoor and outdoor settings.

This new development will join Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre.

With three more projects underway, including Hilton Garden Inn Trinidad Airport, Hampton by Hilton Trinidad Airport, and Hilton Garden Inn San Fernando South Park, Hilton is set to expand its Caribbean footprint.

The announcement follows Hilton’s earlier reveal of the Waldorf Astoria resort opening in Costa Rica, further enhancing its luxury hotel portfolio in the Caribbean and Latin America.
