Japanese hospitality company Hotel Okura has announced plans to strengthen its presence in the country with new property opening in January next year.

The new 60-room Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei will be located close to the historic Okazaki Betsuin Temple in Kyoto.

The rooms in the hotel would range from 40m2 in size, including eight 80m2 suite rooms in the theme of a mountain villa.

Furthermore, the hotel will offer a restaurant on the first floor featuring large windows in addition to a lounge, a bar and a fitness centre.

The hotel interior is being designed by ‘GO ON’, a project team consisting of six inheritors of traditional Kyoto craft skills.

Real estate developer Mitsubishi Estate will be responsible for managing the new hotel.

From January next year, the hotel will operate two Hotel Okura-branded properties.

Hotel Okura, through its subsidiary Okura Nikko Hotel, operates 78 properties under three banners including Okura Hotels & Resorts, Nikko Hotels International and Hotel JAL City.
