Hospitality group Hotel Okura is set to open a new property in Manila, Philippines, in 2018.

The group has reached an agreement with Travellers International Hotel Group (TIHGI), under which TIHGI will manage the new Hotel Okura Manila.

Hotel Okura Manila will be housed within Resorts World Manila (RWM), owned by TIHGI, located near Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). TIHGI is the developer and operator of RWM, a tourism resort in the Philippines.

Hotel Okura president Toshihiro Ogita said: “As Hotel Okura’s first hotel to open in the Philippines, we will leverage the group’s expertise in traditional Japanese hospitality to make Hotel Okura Manila a much-beloved hotel among both local and foreign visitors.

“For the past five years, the Philippines has experienced high economic growth surpassing 6% per annum, and its tourism market is expected to achieve mid- to long-term growth.”

The new hotel with 191 rooms of 60m2 will feature dining options including Japanese and Spanish restaurants, bar, pool and fitness facility.
