Walsh Construction has announced the opening of the new Hotel Zachary, a new boutique, lifestyle hotel adjacent to Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois, US.
The seven-storey, 238,000ft² hotel was built by Walsh and features 173 guestrooms and various Chicago-based retail and restaurant offerings.
Walsh Construction project manager Nehal Desai said: “We championed the soft skills on this project; we were a partner everyday with our customer to make sure their goals were achieved.
“We are very proud of the product we delivered and the relationships we developed along the way.”
Hotel Zachary owner Hickory Street Capital worked with Chicago architect Zachary Taylor Davis throughout the entire development process.
Stantec Architecture and Studio K Creative designed a latest version of the early 20th century architecture.
Serving as the general contractor, Walsh started demolition of an existing structure in March 2016 and later broke ground in July.
Over the next 21 months, the company along with its design team members worked to deliver the new hotel.
Hotel Zachary is said to be the latest addition to Walsh’s portfolio of hospitality projects, which has recently completed other hotels in Chicago, including the 17-storey renovation of the Chicago Motor Club into a Hampton Inn, as well as a Hyatt Centric Hotel, Hilton Garden Inn and Cambria Hotel in Chicago’s loop district.
The Walsh Group operates as Walsh Construction, Archer Western and Walsh Canada across 18 regional offices.
