The 222-room Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu features an infinity pool, duplex restaurant and bar on the rooftop.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened 222-room Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu, representing the debut of Hyatt Centric brand in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

The 23-storey hotel is located in the heart of the city’s dining and entertainment district, and serving as a convenient homebase for guests to explore the coastal capital of Malaysia’s Sabah state on the island of Borneo.

HYATT ASIA PACIFIC group president David Udell said: “We are delighted to introduce Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu as Hyatt’s first Hyatt Centric hotel in Southeast Asia, setting a new milestone for our rapidly expanding lifestyle brand.

“Building on Hyatt’s brand presence in Malaysia for over 40 years, we are excited that this hotel will offer fresh experiences through this new launchpad from which savvy travellers can discover the natural beauty and local experiences around Kota Kinabalu and beyond.”

The hotel features modern guestrooms, an infinity pool, duplex restaurant and bar on the rooftop.

Guests can enjoy sweeping views of Signal Hill, the islands at Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park and the South China Sea.

Furthermore, Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu is just steps away from shopping venues and the Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal from where guests can take a short 20-minute boat trip to nearby islands.

Its location is convenient for business travellers due to its close proximity to Sabah International Convention Centre, a sports complex and a university.

Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) is also a 15-minute drive from the hotel.

Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu offers modern guestrooms, including 16 spacious suites, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a private balcony.

ON22 restaurant and ON23 bar form the duplex dining destination, offering guests vibrant Asian flavours and creative beverages.

The Lounge in the lobby serves as a social space for guests to enjoy quick bites and beverages.

The hotel has 3,154ft2 of function space with seven meeting rooms located on the third floor. Each meeting room has balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows, high-spec audio visual equipment for in-person seminars and hybrid meetings and social events for up to 170 people.
