An affiliate of Hyatt Hotels has entered into franchise agreements with an affiliate of Hesperia Hotels & Resorts to introduce its Regency brand in Spain for the first time.
As per the agreement, the Hesperia Madrid Hotel will be rebranded as the Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid, while the Hesperia Barcelona Tower will be renamed as the Hyatt Regency Barcelona Fira.
Both properties will undergo ‘significant renovations’ before being fully rebranded in the fourth quarter of this year.
Customers can start booking for these properties using Hyatt’s booking system starting June this year.
The addition two new properties takes Hyatt’s count of hotels in Spain to five. The hospitality group’s other three properties in Spain are Park Hyatt Mallorca, Hyatt Centric Gran Via Madrid, and Hotel Sofia Barcelona.
Hyatt vice president of development –Europe Felicity Black-Roberts said: “These agreements mark a significant moment for Hyatt, demonstrating the confidence amongst owners and developers in the strength of our brands across Europe.
