Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has expanded its portfolio with the signing of its sixth Ginger-branded property with Hotel Pearl Dunes in Kerala, India.

This greenfield project is scheduled to open in 2027.

The latest addition comes just after the company signed a Vivanta-branded hotel in the state last week.

Prior to this, it launched a Ginger-branded hotel in the state of Maharashtra.

IHCL real estate and development executive vice-president Suma Venkatesh said: “With the addition of Ginger Bekal, IHCL will have three of its brands present in the destination.

“Bekal with its beautiful natural landscape is a key tourist attraction in Kerala and the new hotel will cater to this growing leisure market. We are delighted to further our partnership with Hotel Pearl Dunes.”

Hotel Pearl Dunes managing director KM Abdul Latheef said: “Taking ahead our partnership, we are excited to announce our third hotel with IHCL. Ginger Bekal will offer the travellers a new experience with its vibrant design and leisure offerings.”

Ginger Bekal situated on the Kerala State Highway in Bekal town, will have 150 rooms.

Guests can dine at the hotel’s all-day diner, Qmin, which will serve a range of global and local dishes.

Among the other amenities to be provided at the property are a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a children’s play area, a banquet hall and additional meeting rooms.

Additionally, the hotel’s location will provide guests access to nearby locations such as Bekal Fort, beaches, and temples.

This addition will bring IHCL’s portfolio of hotels in Kerala to 19 across Taj, Ginger, SeleQtions and Vivanta brands, with an additional six in the developmental phase.

The company currently has 276 hotels, with 81 under development, spanning four continents, 11 countries, and more than 100 locations.
