Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has inaugurated a new Vivanta hotel in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, expanding its presence in India’s northeast region.

Spread across ten acres of land, Vivanta Arunachal Pradesh, Tawang comprises 80 rooms and suites, an all-day diner called Mynt, the Wink lounge bar, and a deli named Swirl.

Positioned at an elevation of 10,000ft, the hotel offers views of the Tawang Valley and the Himalayas.

It also features the state’s largest ballroom and open-air lawns to host conferences and social events.

Other amenities include a temperature-controlled indoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, a spa, an amphitheatre for cultural events, and a play area for children.

Tawang, nestled in the Himalayas, is known for its landscapes and waterfalls, while also being home to many Buddhist monasteries.

The new hotel is located near the Tawang Monastery, which is said to be the second largest across the globe.

It expands IHCL’s northeast Indian footprint to 12 hotels, of which five are under development.
