Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has further bolstered its presence in the Indian state of Maharashtra with the signing of a new Vivanta-branded hotel in Pune.

The greenfield project spanning 2.5 acres will be located on Talegaon MIDC road.

For this hotel, IHCL has teamed up with RMK Infrastructure, which operates diverse businesses in the city, such as real estate, industrial warehousing and infrastructure.

The latest addition will have 140 rooms, a Mynt all-day diner, along with a bar called Wink.

Other amenities at the property include 4000ft² of banquet space, a gym, a spa and a swimming pool.

IHCL executive vice-president of real estate & development Suma Venkatesh said: “This signing will strengthen IHCL’s presence in Pune, a key commercial city in Maharashtra.

“Talegoan is a leading automobile and manufacturing hub in the state and it is poised for further growth with increasing infrastructure development in the area. This will be IHCL’s fifth hotel in Pune. We are delighted to partner with RMK Infrastructure for this hotel.”

RMK Infrastructure founder Ramdas Kakade said: “We are pleased to collaborate with IHCL, the leaders in India’s hospitality industry.

“This hotel will provide guests with the distinctive experience of the Vivanta brand in Talegaon.”

The latest addition will bring IHCL’s total number of hotels in Maharashtra to 33 across Ginger, Vivanta, SeleQtions and Taj brands, including 11 in the development pipeline.

Earlier this month, the company signed a third property at Dehradun in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.

The company currently operates 280 hotels, with ongoing development for 84 properties across four continents, 11 countries and more than 100 locations.
