Leisure and wellness amenities at the hotel include a swimming pool, fitness centre, and spa facilities.

The property will also incorporate meeting spaces and banqueting areas intended to accommodate both corporate gatherings and private functions.

According to IHCL, the brownfield development widens the Gateway brand’s presence in the region. The hospitality company partnered with Samashti Hotels & Resorts for the project.

IHCL Gateway Hotels & Resorts vice-president and brand leader Leah Tata said: “The Gateway brand expands in the north-east with this signing, marking the second anniversary of the re-imagined brand.

“Agartala is witnessing increased demand for hospitality offerings led by the growth of economic activity in the region.

“This signing is in line with our strategy of expanding across key business centres and emerging destinations.

“Gateway has built strong momentum over the last two years across key leisure and commercial markets, serving as the ‘Gateway to the Destination’. With over 60 hotels in its portfolio, the brand remains well poised to reach its guidance of 100 hotels by 2030.”

Samashti Hotels & Resorts director Alluri Harsha Varma said: “As the state capital continues to grow in prominence, we are happy to partner with IHCL and introduce the Gateway brand to Agartala.”

Following the agreement, IHCL’s portfolio in Tripura reaches three properties, comprising the newly signed location alongside two projects currently under development.
