
IHG Hotels and Resorts has signed a management agreement with real estate builders and construction company T&K Construction to introduce its first Holiday Inn hotel in Bhutan.
The new 100-key hotel, situated in the capital city of Thimphu, is expected to open in the second quarter of 2025 and will mark the company’s second brand in the country.
It will offer a complete range of amenities, along with three dining options, which include an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge and a vibrant bar.
Holiday Inn Thimphu also comprise multiple meeting and event facilities, including a ballroom.
It further boasts leisure facilities including a spa, a fitness centre and a swimming pool.

As of 31 March 2023, IHG had 49 hotels across five brands operating in the South-West Asia region. These brands include Holiday Inn Resort, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn, Six Senses and Crowne Plaza.
In the next two to three years, 55 new hotels under pipeline development are set to open.
