UK-based The Inn Collection Group is continuing its business expansion strategy with the acquisition of the 40-bedroom site, The Dean Court Hotel.

The landmark grade II listed venue will immediately start trading under The Inn Collection Group’s flagship ‘Eat, Drink, Sleep and Explore’ trading brand.

It will undergo refurbishment next year.

The Inn Collection Group managing director Sean Donkin said: “The Dean Court Hotel is an extraordinary site. We are absolutely delighted to be adding this spectacular venue and its team into our collection.

“It matches our pubs with rooms blueprint in every way, offering our expanding customer base an unrivalled location with a phenomenal USP in its proximity to York Minster.

“We have had York in our sights for a considerable time and are looking forward to operating here and welcoming the Dean Court staff team and customers into The Inn Collection Group family.”

Dean Court Hotel represents the sixth acquisition for the company this year and the fifth Yorkshire venue.

Method Building Consultancy provided pre diligence and Ward Hadaway corporate partner Imogen Holland offered legal advice on the acquisition.

Terms of the transaction, which was negotiated by Colliers with The Inn Collection Group, are not disclosed.

Colliers Hotels Agency head Julian Troup said: “The Dean Court Hotel was marketed in a highly discreet manner at the request of the vendor, and despite the challenges that this can create a sale has been successfully concluded.”

In June this year, The Inn Collection Group opened The Seaburn Inn on Sunderland seafront, its first property in Wearside.

The company also acquired Ripon Spa Hotel in North Yorkshire in the same month.

Besides these, the company also owns properties in Northumberland, the Lake District, County Durham and Lancashire.
