AC Hotels by Marriott brand has opened a new property in Greater China, marking its debut in the East Asian country.

In September 2022, hospitality company Marriott International reached an agreement with Suzhou Jingyuan Hotel Management to develop the hotel.

The AC Hotel by Marriott Suzhou is situated in the heart of the city’s Gusu District, with Beisi Pagoda Metro Station located within walking distance while the Suzhou Railway Station is just 2.5km away.

Guests will have easy access to heritage sites, such as the Lion Grove Garden, the Humble Administrator’s Garden, and the iconic Suzhou Museum.

The new hotel features 135 guest rooms and suites, including five garden rooms featuring a private outdoor garden.

Each room offers guest amenities such as a 55-inch LCD television, a walk-in shower, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

AC Hotel by Marriott Suzhou boasts a 50m2 multi-functional space suitable for banquets and business meetings as well as a 24-hour fitness centre.

The hotel also houses an all-day dining restaurant, AC Kitchen, which caters local delicacies and Spanish-inspired dishes, and the signature AC Lounge for dining and work.

Marriott International distinctive select brand portfolio vice-president and global brand leader Matthew Boettcher said: “We are excited to bring AC Hotels by Marriott to Greater China, making it the seventh brand in our Select Brands portfolio in the region, offering diverse experiences for travellers and locals alike.

“Suzhou is renowned for its postcard-perfect water channels and canals, home to some exquisitely designed Classical Chinese Gardens that strike a balance of function and beauty, making it the ideal destination to debut the design-driven AC Hotels brand in the country.

“AC Hotel by Marriott Suzhou will create a seamless guest experience that attracts discerning travellers, providing everything they need and nothing they don’t.”

In April last year, the brand opened its first property in South Korea’s Gangnam district.
