Mercure, a part of Accor, has further expanded its portfolio with the opening of Mercure Sibiu Arsenal in Romania.

Located at 48 Victoriei Boulevard, across from Sub Arini Park in the town of Sibiu, the hotel will be operated for ten years under a management agreement between Accor and local investor Compa Sibiu.

Accor vice-president for development of premium, midscale and economy for Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Italy and Greece, Frank Reul, said: “Strengthening Accor’s presence in Sibiu, one of Romania’s most picturesque and culturally rich cities of Romania, has been a key target for us.

“Nevertheless, I always say that having a hotel in a city is not the end goal. Having the best hotel for that area is what we always aim for.”

Mercure Sibiu Arsenal general manager Livia Hoffman said: “We aim for Mercure Sibiu Arsenal to soon become a flagship destination for Sibiu and for the region.

“The brand’s unwavering commitment to quality, strengthened by our team’s passion and enthusiasm, will be the guarantee of a consistent and reliable standard of service.”
