Minor Hotels has unveiled the introduction of the Avani Hotels & Resorts brand to India with an upcoming property in Visakhapatnam.

This new development, comprising a resort and branded residences, is situated along Sunray Beach in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Offering 117 hotel rooms and 58 residential villas, along with premium amenities, the project is part of Minor Hotels’ ambitious expansion in India, aiming for 50 new launches in the next ten years.

Minor International group CEO and Minor Hotels CEO Dillip Rajakarier said: “We are pleased to announce the launch of this significant new project in Visakhapatnam.

“The Avani brand will offer an exceptional blend of contemporary design, upbeat service and elevated experiences for both hotel guests and residents alike. We look forward to bringing our expertise in delivering premium hospitality to this dynamic market.”

Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort will serve both domestic and international travellers and is scheduled for completion by 2028.

The property will offer three food and beverage venues, a banquet hall, a swimming pool, a beach bar, an AvaniSpa, a golf course and an AvaniFit gym.

The resort is nestled on a 25.5-acre site in Bhogapuram, strategically close to the upcoming Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, expected to improve regional connectivity when it opens next year.

The company noted that the Information Technology Special Economic Zones development and infrastructure improvements in the city make the Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort a venue for both business and leisure visitors alike.

The project is being developed by Visakhapatnam-based real estate developer Sunray Green Space.

Minor Hotels’ portfolio boasts more than 560 hotels, resorts and branded residences in 58 countries.
