Japanese hospitality management company Nazuna, in partnership with real estate developer JECT ONE, has begun operations of its luxury lodging facility ANJIN Gion Shirakawa, in Kyoto, Japan.

Located along the Shirakawa River in Kyoto city, of the Gion district, the property is a three-minute walk from Higashiyama Station.

The facility’s name ANJIN is drawn from the Buddhist word for “peace of mind” as it aims to provide peace and ease to guests.

According to Nazuna, ANJIN Gion Shirakawa is designed to provide guests with a quiet, private and comfortable stay.

Nazuna operates luxury lodging brands that restore old Kyoto buildings and cater to the growing need of guests to experience Japan’s rich, undiscovered cultural resources and beauty.

These brands consist of “Nazuna”, a luxury ryokan (Japanese-style inn) and “Kiraku”, a single-storey inn in renovated machiya townhouses.

ANJIN Gion Shirakawa is a machiya or traditional Kyoto townhouse that is over 115 years old and spans roughly 53m² on the first and second floors.

It can accommodate up to five guests and charges JPY40,000 ($278) per night based on the time of year and count of guests.

Nazuna Co was set up by hospitality company Kiraku, in partnership with Yumegurashi, to provide tourists with a comfortable space to stay where modernity and tradition meet.

Kiraku provides business development and management support to Nazuna, which operates award-winning lodging facilities such as Nazuna Kyoto Nijojo and Kiraku Kyoto Anekoji.
