The Newport Harbor Island Resort on Goat Island in the US state of Rhode Island, has completed its extensive overhaul, reported Hospitality Net.

Owned by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust and managed by Davidson Resorts, the resort has now officially reopened.

The renovation has been executed in partnership with Dawson Design Associates (DDA).

It encompasses all common areas, guest rooms, dining venues, guest rooms, and event spaces, a 22-slip marina and the on-site spa.

The resort features nearly 30,000ft² of indoor and outdoor event space, catering to a variety of functions from weddings to conferences.

A dedicated sales team is in place to ensure personalised service for those booking events.

The resort also introduces a range of activities directed by the new Recreation Manager, Rebecca Violette, including group clambakes, wellness classes, and a Kids’ Club.

The culinary offerings have been re-concepted, with the all-day dining at Torpedo Bar & Lounge serving local specialities.

The Bakery, which is said to be reminiscent of a New England-style patisserie, offers coffee and baked goods.

The full-service restaurant, 1639, and the Pineapple Club are set to open on Memorial Day Weekend.

This restaurant will feature fresh seafood and New England favourites.

Meanwhile, the club will serve a new menu of lobster rolls, fresh seafood, salads, and more.

It will also have an expanded cabana seating with an adults-only section and special pop-up programming.

Last October, Pebblebrook Hotel Trust entered a contract to divest Hotel Zoe Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, California, to a third party for $68.5m.

The sale proceeds will be used for paying down debt and share buybacks.
