Arbor Lodging Partners has acquired the 217-room full-service hotel and events venue, Hotel Phillips, in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, US.
Hotel Phillips, which is expected to undergo a significant renovation, will be managed by NVN Hotels, an affiliate of Arbor.
Arbor Lodging Partners CEO Vamsi Bonthala said: “We are launching our renovation of this beautiful historic hotel immediately, to deliver a guest experience that takes advantage of all amenities its downtown location has to offer, and contributes to the revival of the heart of Kansas City.”
According to Arbor, the renovation will highlight the hotel’s history and it will join the Curio Collection by Hilton after completion of renovation works.
Opened in 1931, the property offers a full-service guest experience with 11,000ft² of meeting and pre-function space.
The property features a restaurant and bar, 12 Baltimore, offering guests food prepared by an award-winning chef, as well as live music for three nights a week.
NVN Hotels CEO Sheenal Patel said: “Our hotel platform is in expansion mode. We want our hotels to offer communal spaces to work and socialise, healthy, local selections of food and for our guests to have an authentic and satisfying experience.”
The hotel provides entertainment, including live music venues of the adjacent popular nightlife destination, the Power & Light District, the neighbouring Sprint Center; and events at the Kansas City Convention Center.
