Marriott International’s Autograph Collection brand has announced the addition of the Carlton Hotel in New York, US, to its portfolio.
The 317-room Carlton Hotel is the second New York City hotel to join the Autograph Collection and the 27th property to join the portfolio overall.
The Carlton Hotel offers over 6,000ft² of meeting space and seven meeting rooms for business affairs, corporate and social events. The hotel, managed by Gemstone Hotels & Resorts, initially opened in 1904 as the Hotel Seville, and was originally designed and completed by Harry Allen Jacobs in Beaux-Arts-style architecture. In 2010, the hotel completed a multimillion dollar redesign, which incorporated modern elements to enhance its original design.
Members of the Autograph Collection have the ability to access the global sales and marketing channels of Marriott International, including the company’s Marriott Rewards programme.
In November 2011, Autograph Collection announced the addition of the 125-room Union Station Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, US, to its portfolio for January 2012. The hotel is a member of the Historic Hotels of America, a programme of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The portfolio of Autograph Collection to date includes more than 26 properties in the US, Europe, and the British Virgin Islands, a figure that is expected to double by the end of 2012.
