Choice Hotels International has signed an agreement with franchise partner CGI Merchant Group and 163rd St Executive Center to develop a new Cambria hotels and suites brand property in North Miami Beach, Florida.
The new build hotel, which is due to open in 2017, will be located at the intersection of 163rd St and 19th Ave.
Choice Hotels International Upscale Brands senior vice-president Michael Murphy said: "We continue to experience strong momentum in bringing the Cambria hotels and suites experience to new business and leisure travellers, and we’re excited to announce our new hotel in North Miami Beach.
"This is a fantastic location with explosive growth, and we can’t wait to bring our brand to travellers in this market."
According to Choice, the beaches, fine dining, shopping destinations, hospitals and a robust business district have made the North Miami Beach area a popular destination.
The area is a popular choice for corporations as it meets the requirements of a meeting and conference destination.

"I have been observing the growth in the North Miami Beach market for several years and Cambria will make a great addition, sitting at the juncture of two of Miami’s strongest retail and residential areas in Aventura and Bal Harbor."
The 165 room North Miami Beach property will feature amenities, including a bistro named Social Circle, which offers a menu comprised of local specialties.
Choice’s new hotel will also offer more than 2,000ft² of meeting space. In March, Choice Hotels and O’Reilly Hospitality Management opened a new Cambria hotel and suites Plano-Legacy in Plano, Texas, US.
Located at 7500 Parkwood Blvd, this four-storey hotel features 84,000ft² of space and 129 rooms, each with separate living, working and sleeping spaces.
