The Clarksburg Urban Renewal Authority (CURA) in the US has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for a new hotel and a conference centre.
Developers are required to submit their RFPs by 17 February 2015 for the redevelopment plan, which was approved by the city of Clarksburg Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council.
Plan includes a chain-affiliated hotel with about 160 rooms and a conference centre.
CURA chairman Anthony said: "The RFP process will take approximately three months to complete. This will allow time for the interested developers to finalise their proposals. The review process would then begin immediately by CURA."
The project is expected to serve as a destination for leisure, business transient, regional/state association meetings as well as act as the host hotel for events within the north central West Virginia Region.
City manager Martin Howe said: "Our team has been working with our hospitality industry consultant, Pompan Hospitality Global, Inc. for approximately a year to get to this point, there has been a lot of time expended in market research and we are very pleased that we are making a significant move forward with this project."
