The city of Westerville in the US has signed an agreement with Concord Hospitality to construct a new Marriott Renaissance hotel and conference centre at Westar Place, the site previously known as Altair Business Park.
The city also announced Continental Realty/Continental Real Estate as its development consultant and brokerage team for the site, a tract of 62 acres of land acquired for commercial development in Westar.
Concord Hospitality will develop and operate the hotel, with construction planned to begin in 2015.
Concord Hospitality president and CEO Mark Laport said: "The Westar Place project is a great example of the kind of strategically planned, well-balanced mixed-use urban development that considers the current needs of the community and the projected demands of future generations."
The eight-storey, 224-room and suite hotel will feature around 20,000ft² of meeting and convention space, according to Laport. The full-service hotel will also feature three-meal restaurant, as well as offer the latest in-room dining options.
Westerville City manager David Collinsworth said: "This is all part of the tradition in Westerville of establishing our vision, finding the right partners and marshalling the needed resources to undertake bold economic development initiatives."
