Hotel development, ownership and management company Concord Hospitality has started construction on Hyatt Place Jacksonville hotel in Florida, US.

The 160-room property, operated by Concord, will be located at The Strand at St Johns Town Center, a new 45-acre, mixed-use development with retail, restaurants and apartment homes.

Scheduled to open in the later part of next year, the five-storied Hyatt Place Jacksonville will feature the Gallery, complete with 3,000ft² of meeting space; an outdoor pool and fitness centre; and an outdoor deck for social and private events.

Concord Hospitality president and CEO Mark Laport said: “As the area continues to grow, so does the demand for a thoughtful, modern, refreshing and stylish hotel designed with guest needs in mind.

“The Hyatt Place brand could not be a better fit and we are looking forward to expanding our offerings in the Florida market.”

Additionally, Concord operates two Hyatt-branded properties in Florida: Hyatt Place Miami Airport and Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami.
