Group Germain Hotels has opened a new, 160-room Alt Hotel in the Sports, Hospitality and Entertainment District (SHED) in Winnipeg, Canada.

The 20-storey Alt Hotel Winnipeg offers ultra-comfortable rooms, a fully equipped fitness room and seven meeting spaces with 5,000ft², featuring large format televisions, projection screens and equipment offering the latest technology.

Alt Hotel Winnipeg has a new kind of meeting space known as a creative lounge, specifically designed to carry out brainstorming or informal sessions. The lobby is adorned with a colourful mural featuring photographs of the city.

Alt Hotel Winnipeg is part of Centrepoint, a $100m real estate project developed by AXLP, which is a partnership of Artis Reit and Longboat Development.

The 200,000ft² tower, which covers nearly one city block, will include the hotel, two restaurants, a coffee shop, four floors of office space, as well as a parkade that will provide guests with direct access to the hotel through a skywalk.

Centrepoint comprises a residential component with the construction of Urban Capital’s Glasshouse Skyloft condominiums.
