Hilton Worldwide is to rebrand and operate the eight Mint Hotel properties acquired by Blackstone as part of the DoubleTree by Hilton and mid-scale Hilton Garden Inn brands.

Hilton said the deal will bring the brand’s total number of hotels managed to more than 100 properties in the UK, and to 220 hotels and resorts consisting of more than 50,000 rooms across Europe.

New Hilton Garden Inn locations in Glasgow, Bristol and Birmingham will provide amenities that can be found at a network of more than 520 hotels around the world.

The brand opened the Hilton Garden Inn Istanbul-Golden Horn as its fourth hotel in Turkey.

With more than 150 projects at various stages of the development pipeline, the brand will make its China debut in the first quarter of 2012.
