Mexican chain Hoteles City Express is set to open four new hotels, bringing its total offering to 96.

The new hotels include the City Express Plus Monterrey Nuevo Sur, City Express Matamoros, City Express Salamanca and City Express Junior Villahermosa hotels.

The 138-room City Express Plus Monterrey Nuevo Sur property is the chain’s fourth hotel in the city of Monterrey, and will operate under a 100% ownership scheme with operations set to begin on 18 December.

The fifth property in the state of Tamaulipas, the City Express Matamoros will start operations with 113 rooms on 22 December.

Located in the border corridor of north-east Mexico, the hotel aims to accommodate travellers involved in the commercial, services, energy and export sectors.

The 119-room City Express Salamanca hotel is located in the centre of Guanajuato state and is 100% owned by the company.

Said to be the sixth hotel of the chain in the state, it will start operations on 23 December and primarily serve business travellers with activities in the Bajío region.

Hoteles City Express completely owns the 136-room City Express Junior Villahermosa, which is chain’s third hotel in Tabasco state and the second one in Villahermosa city.

With operations starting on 28 December, the hotel will host guests with business activities relating mainly to the energy industry.

Hoteles City Express aims to conclude its 2014 development pipeline in the first weeks of 2015.
