Andaz Munich

A Hyatt Hotels affiliate has signed a deal with Jost Hurler Group to open a new Andaz branded hotel in Munich, Germany.

The new Andaz Munich, which will be the first Andaz-branded hotel in Germany, is expected to be opened in 2017 and will increase the brand’s presence in Europe to three hotels.

Planned to be developed in a cultural district of Schwabinger Tor in central Munich, the new 274-room hotel will be located between Leopoldstrasse and Berlinerstrasse, and will be part of a mixed use site including residential apartments, shops, offices, theatres and restaurants.

Andaz Munich will be located in close proximity to tourist destinations like Munchner Freiheit, the English Gardens, as well as the Parkstadt Schwabing business district.

Hyatt Europe, Africa, and Middle East acquisitions and development senior vice president Peter Norman said that the company is eager to expand the Andaz brand in Europe, and especially in Germany.

"We feel this hotel and brand will resonate with the business and leisure community in Munich and throughout Germany."

"Andaz Munich will bring to life the brand’s mission of creating inspiring, indigenous experiences and immersing guests into the destination’s local culture with an array of unique activities," Norman added.

"We continue to see a positive response from our Andaz guests across in Europe – at Andaz Liverpool Street London and Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht – and we believe Andaz Munich will continue to bring excitement to Europe’s travellers."

Andaz Munich will have 234 guestrooms, 36 junior suites, three executive suites, and a presidential suite as well as an all-day dining restaurant, a lounge and rooftop bar.

Facilities at the property will include a fitness centre with spa and pool facilities, while its conference facilities will include a ballroom, seven conference rooms as well as pre-function space.

Jost Hurler group managing director Albert Heinermann said the company believes the hotel will connect guests to the local community and all it has to offer.

"Andaz Munich will be a great addition to Schwabinger Tor, and we feel this hotel and brand will resonate with the business and leisure community in Munich and throughout Germany," Heinermann added.
