Chicago-based hospitality group Hyatt Hotels has launched its first Place brand hotel in the Caribbean market, the Hyatt Place Bayamon in Puerto Rico.

Located in Puerto Rico’s second largest city Bayamon, the new hotel is within the metropolitan area of San Juan and in close proximity to the Plaza Del Sol shopping mall, Bayamon’s 18-hole Golf Course, and Paseo Lineal Recreation Park.

Hyatt Place Bayamon has 156 rooms featuring a swivelling 42in HDTV, the plush Hyatt Grand Bed, a Cozy Corner with sectional sofa-sleeper and Hyatt Plug Panel media centre for connecting a laptop or media device to the TV.

"Opening the first Hyatt Place in Puerto Rico is a significant step as we continue to serve more guests worldwide."

Hyatt Place brands vice-president Chris Walker said: "Opening the first Hyatt Place in Puerto Rico is a significant step as we continue to serve more guests worldwide and we prepare to welcome additional Hyatt Place hotels throughout the Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America over the next few years."

The property also offers free Wi-Fi, free morning kitchen services featuring freshly prepared breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruits, hot and cold cereal, yogurt, breads, premium coffee and an assortment of juices.

The hotel also has over 1,900ft² hi-tech meeting and function space along with a coffee to cocktails bar featuring specialty coffees and premium beers, as well as wines and cocktails, a 24/7 gallery menu serving made-to-order greens, sandwiches, flatbreads and a 24-hour StayFit Gym.

Hyatt Place Bayamon general manager Frankie Mariano said the group’s Gallery Hosts look forward to welcoming visitors and locals of Puerto Rico with Hyatt’s authentic hospitality and providing a seamless Hyatt Place stay.

"Our vibrant city of Bayamon is growing, and we are proud to be opening Hyatt Place in Bayamon amongst its flourishing sports, food, arts and culture scene," Mariano said.
