InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened the new Holiday Inn Express Snowmass Village hotel in Colorado, US.

Located at the base of Snowmass Mountain, the four-storey hotel features 145 guest rooms and six suites, with access to a ski lift.

HEI Hotels & Resorts is franchised by an affiliate of IHG and manages the new hotel.

IHG Americas core brands and brand operations senior vice-president Heather Balsley said: "Given its prime location in a popular ski market, the Holiday Inn Express Snowmass Village hotel will be a great destination for outdoor sport enthusiasts who want to spend more time on the mountain than in their room."

The new hotel’s guest rooms feature a wide variety of amenities, including iPod docking stations, large under-bed trundle drawers, cubbies for ski gear and a place to hang skis.

The property also includes a heated outdoor pool, two hot tubs, round the clock fitness centre and 1,100ft² of meeting space.

Holiday Inn Express Snowmass Village hotel general manager Jim Morrissey said: "By incorporating elements from traditional ski-lodge style hotels with the modern conveniences and travel amenities smart travellers have come to expect, our hotel provides a unique option for travelers wanting to enjoy the beauty of Snowmass Village throughout the year."
