InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has entered a management agreement with Adyar Gate Hotels for its upcoming InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort in the southern Indian city of Chennai.
This is the second deal signed between the companies, as they previously collaborated on Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park.
InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort will be the second hotel under the IHG brand in India. The first one is located in Mumbai.
InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort will be located on East Coast Road in the south of Chennai, and will consist of 106 rooms along with three gourmet dining outlets, a speciality restaurant, a bar, and an all-day dining restaurant.
It will also feature a health club, an outdoor pool, spa and a banquet for large scale events.
According to IHG, it is on the way to becoming one of the largest international hotel operators in Chennai with its four hotels under different brands set to open in 2016. The four hotels include Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, InterContinental and Crowne Plaza.

IHG expects its latest venture with Adyar Gate Hotels to open later in 2015.
IHG South West Asia head Shantha de Silva said: "With its growing popularity as a tourism destination, the Tamil Nadu capital is a key growth city for us and, with its proximity to both the business district and tourist attractions such as the UNESCO World Heritage site at Mahabalipuram, the location of the new InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort is second to none."
