Indigo hotel

Indigo, a part of InterContinental Hotels Group, has opened its first hotel in Maryland called Hotel Indigo Baltimore – Mount Vernon.

Hotel Indigo Baltimore is a boutique hotel, which is located in downtown Baltimore’s Historic and Cultural Districts. The building hosted Baltimore’s first YMCA.

The 162-room hotel is owned by MVH Baltimore and is being managed by Maryland-based Chesapeake Hospitality.

"Indigo used 112 different guest room floor plans and five bi-level suites that are designed to provide different room experiences upon each stay."

The leisure provider designed the hotel to reflect the art, photography and architecture of the Mt Vernon neighbourhood.

Indigo used 112 different guest room floor plans and five bi-level suites that are designed to provide different room experiences upon each stay.

It features 4,000ft² of meeting space, a 24-hour fitness centre, Poets Modern Cocktails & Eats restaurant and bar, and a library in the lobby that features books from local and international authors.

The hotel also has a neighbourhood guide, an innovative touchscreen display designed to connect guests to each other and the local neighbourhood.

IHG Lifestyle Brands Americas vice-president Jason Moskal said: "The Hotel Indigo brand is uniquely designed to reflect the local culture, character and history of the neighbourhoods where our hotels are located.

"Mt Vernon’s rich history was defined by a dynamic network of social clubs and innovative thinkers who gathered often in the name of cocktails and creativity.

"Guests will be inspired by the neighbourhood story uncovered within the Hotel Indigo Baltimore – Mt Vernon and the service delivered by our Hotel Indigo team, all within a stylish boutique hotel setting."
