Qatar-based hotel developer and operator Katara Hospitality has launched The Peninsula Paris, which will open on 1 August following a restoration.
The new property will be Katara Hospitality’s 14th operational hotel. Peninsula Paris is located on Avenue Kleber in the French capital, adjacent to the Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe.
The renovation of the property is being carried out by Katara along with partner Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (HSH).
Restoration of the property was led by Richard Martinet of Affine Architecture and Interior Design, while interiors were designed by Chhada Siembieda & Associates’ Henry Leung.
Rennovation work includes excavating three basement levels, housing a swimming pool, spa, car park and other facilities.
The hotel features 200 rooms, including 34 suites, with five featuring their own private rooftop gardens.
Katara Hospitality chairman Sheikh Nawaf Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al-Than said: "Our investment in The Peninsula Paris marks our commitment to the French market."
Katara has properties in Qatar, France, Switzerland, Egypt, Singapore and Thailand with others under renovation or in development in Italy, Morocco, Maldives, Gambia and Comoros.
In addition, the company is planning to have 30 properties in its portfolio by 2016, with another 30 by 2030.
