US-based hotel and restaurant company Kimpton unveiled its 50-room, surf-inspired Skyline Collection at the company’s Hotel Palomar San Diego.
The 30 guestrooms, 12 studios, six suites and two penthouses are located on the hotel’s 16th to 20th floors. All rooms offer views of the San Diego Bay, Gaslamp District and Coronado Island.
Kimpton says the hotel’s design by Theresa Fatino Design incorporates California-style fixtures in the new rooms, which includes surf art, marine-coloured tie-dye fabrics, surfboard-themed headboards and sconces resembling motorcycle tail lights.
The hotel also features a rooftop pool and lounge, SummerSalt where Kimpton has launched a new programme, which will include musical performances by renowned artists, along with weekly events dedicated towards local hotel and restaurant professionals, outdoor game tournaments and happy hour specials.
Palomar San Diego general manager Jim Hollister said: "Our hotel has always been in the best location in the heart of downtown San Diego, offering guests an authentic urban experience.
"Now, in addition to the proximity to the best shopping, dining and entertainment venues, our guests will have a quintessential San Diego experience unlike any other in one of our new Skyline Collection guestrooms."
