The Courtyard New York Manhattan/Upper East Side hotel in New York, US, has completed a major renovation of its lobby and guest rooms.
The hotel features the brand’s business lobby concept with media pods, complimentary Wi-Fi and a variety of seating zones.
The hotel, which features 210 rooms and 16 suites on 15 floors, in addition to three meeting rooms with 1,364ft² of flexible event space, is near to the Yankee Stadium, Metropolitan Museum, Central Park, Randall’s Island and the Apollo Theater.
The hotel will offer a comfortable and stylish room design, with the final touches of the transformation scheduled for spring 2014.
Each room in the hotel features plush bedding, a functional work space, spacious bathroom, separate seating area and complimentary in-room high-speed internet.
Courtyard has replaced the traditional front desk with separate welcome pedestals to create more personal interaction during the check-in process and to allow staff members to show guests the lobby features and provide assistance.
With the introduction of The Market, a 24/7 shop for snacks, beverages and sundries, dining at the New York hotel has also been completely reimaged.
The enhanced GoBoard 4.0, which provides local information, maps, weather and headline news, is a key component of the hotel.
Courtyard global brand manager and vice president Janis Milham said that Courtyard has always prided itself on being a brand that listens to what travellers want from a hotel.
"Guests want more control and choice with services and amenities that create a healthy balance between working and relaxing," Milham added.
The hotel is owned by RLJ Lodging Trust and is operated by Highgate Hotels, under a franchise licensing agreement with a subsidiary of Marriott International.
Courtyard is Marriott’s largest brand, with around 860 locations in 30 countries.
