Marriott International, in association with the Shanghai Bao Hua Group, has expanded its presence in China with the opening of a new hotel, the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Parkview.
Located next to the Multimedia Valley in Zhabei District, the hotel is close to Daning Lingshi Park, and is surrounded by nature trails.
Shanghai Marriott Hotel Parkview has 317 rooms and suites which offer scenic views of the park and feature interiors designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates.
All of the rooms at the hotel provide new room amenities by Thann, the natural Thai skincare line, while the property is said to be suitable for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions with 2,800m² of meeting space.
Additionally, the new hotel boasts two full-sized pillar-less ballrooms as well as a wide selection of large conference spaces.
The larger of the hotel’s two pillar-less ballrooms measures 1,400m² and features two state-of-the-art 65m² LED screens, while the other measures 1,000m² and also provides one LED screen.
Marriott International Asia Pacific president and managing director Simon Cooper said, "We are delighted to open this inspiring hotel in Shanghai which adds to our extensive portfolio in China."
The hotel also features four signature food and beverage outlets including Shanghai City Bistro, an all-day dining restaurant featuring live action cooking stations showcasing traditional favourites and cuisines from around the world.
The hotel’s Man Ho Chinese Restaurant offers authentic Cantonese and Shanghainese cuisine, while Tatsumi is a contemporary Japanese and Korean dining space offering a blend of north Asian delicacies.
Additional amenities at the property include a 24hr fitness centre and indoor swimming pool, as well as access to a golf practice green and a tennis court.
The new hotel represents the 15th Marriott Hotels branded hotel in China and the company’s 21st property in Shanghai.
