Marriott International’s Renaissance Hotels is set to open a hotel in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, marking the opening of the group’s first property in north India.

Lucknow is the capital city of the state of Uttar Pradesh.

With 16 floors and 112 rooms, the hotel is claimed to be the tallest hotel to open in Lucknow.

Marriott International South East Asia and Pacific chief operating officer Rajeev Menon said: "Lucknow is fast emerging as a cultural and business hub in Uttar Pradesh and makes for the perfect location for a Renaissance Hotel.

Featuring contemporary design, the hotel will offer easy access to business hubs and popular leisure destinations in the city, the company stated.

All guest rooms will feature cotton rich linen, 42in LED HD televisions, spacious work and seating areas in addition to a modern three-point bathroom.

Renaissance Lucknow Hotel general manager Rahul Maini said: "The Renaissance Lucknow Hotel brings a modern, new face of hospitality to Lucknow and is sure to set benchmarks in the city.

"With our vibrant new F&B options, extensive leisure facilities and insights into the city, we are confident that the hotel will be a favourite for travellers and Lucknow residents alike."

Features of the hotel also include various dining options, including the Sky Bar and a well-equipped fitness centre, as well as a yoga studio.

Marriott International recently opened its first hotel under the Marriott brand in Chongqing in southwest China.

Located on the 30th to 48th floor of Guorui Centre in Chongqing, the hotel features 341 rooms and offers mountain, city and Yangtze River views.
