Marriott International has announced a management agreement with Inversiones La Rioja, owners of the JW Marriott Lima and the new JW Marriott Cusco, to develop its first project in Peru Courtyard by Marriott Lima.
According to Marriott, the new 150-room Courtyard by Marriott Lima will be launched in 2013.
Marriott International in the Caribbean and Latin America chief development officer Laurent de Kousemaeker said the company has 18 Courtyards operating and 11 in the pipeline in the region.
The new hotel will offer lobby area and a casual restaurant, which will be open for breakfast, with a limited menu for lunch and dinner as well as catering for small meetings.
Designed to suit leisure and business guests, each room is equipped with flat-panel television, complimentary Wi-Fi access and feature a functional work area with a multilevel desk.
The 300-room JW Marriott Lima is the most cosmopolitan and contemporary of Lima’s hot five-star hotels, while the 160-room JW Marriott Cusco, which is set to open in 2012, will have a customised design built around Inca remains found on the site.
On 19 December, Marriott International has announced plans to develop the Courtyard by Marriott Setif, Algeria, under a management agreement with ownership group Prom-Bati. Courtyard by Marriott hotels has more than 900 locations in 36 countries.
